A new Eclipse project – Koneki – dedicated to the creation of an Open Source M2M IDE has been submitted. Its goal is to give M2M developer an environment integrating not only features related to embedded development (embedded target communication, remote debug, …), but also M2M-specific features.
The IDE should indeed offer utilities to manipulate M2M/industrial protocols (OMA-DM, Modbus, Zigbee, X10, …), simulators for M2M gateway/server communications, user-assistance for people with few embedded development skills, etc …
